Mr. Sazali Che Amat is currently the General Manager of the Construction Material Division, CIDB in which he is in charge of the construction products and material standard and its conformance towards better safety and quality of construction output. He is also the resource person for the construction materials conformance initiatives for the Malaysian Construction Industry Transformation programme (CITP) which is developed to drive Malaysian construction sector ahead.
He also sits in various Boards such as the Malaysia Steel Institute (MSI), Akademi Binaan Malaysia Sarawak and the Malaysia Steel and Structural Association (MSSA). On the international front he is currently the Co-Chair of Task Force on Building and Construction under ASEAN Consultative Committee on Standards and Quality.
He joined the Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia (CIDB) in 1997 and has served in various divisions such as Contractors Registration & Levy, Corporate, Technology and Safety & health and Quality Division. He was previously involved in the development of Industrialised Building System (IBS) roadmap, the Malaysian Carbon Reduction and Environmental Sustainability Tool (MyCREST) – the green building rating tool developed for the government, Quality Assessment System in Construction (QLASSIC) and Safety & Health Assessment System in Construction (SHASSIC).
He started his career in the Ministry of Housing and Local Government Malaysia from 1982 until 1997.
